Canine Training SystemsŪ Terrier Field Lead
We've had terriers for nearly 20 years and have had a field lead that has been a favorite all that time. After searching for some time for an Amish leather worker that could give us the quality we wanted in sport dog leads, collars, harnesses and tracking lines, we asked them to duplicate our hunting lead in English Bridle Leather. It was duplicated and was an incredibly good seller with tremendous feedback. When he became ill and retired in the fall of 2014, he referred us to a craftsman he considered his equal in our own backyard.
It's 6 feet long with a floating ring between the handle and the swivel at the half way point. The handle incorporates a brass snap that can be linked to this floating ring around a tree or post to act as a tie out when afield. The bottom half incorporates a martingale style collar with a stainless steel stop that keeps the collar end from going slack and opening so that the dog can't back out. The collar rings are brass flat sided d-rings that keep the collar flat to the dog's neck unlike cheaper collars that use round rings. The d-rings protect the leather through better surface contact. All stitched areas are tapered and sewn for durability. All hardware is solid brass and stainless steel.
We use this lead ourselves and are proud to offer it in our line. We can have these made in black or latigo when requested however the leather quality will suffer. Current inventory is English bridle leather.
For a complimentary product for use when not afield, we recommend our Martingale Collars.
